Key concepts
A Vendor is any supplier your business relies on. A Contract is a specific agreement with that vendor - a vendor can have several contracts running at once (a maintenance agreement and a materials supply deal, for example), each tracked with its own end date and notice period.
Vendor compliance tracking
Each vendor carries a set of compliance flags relevant to working with them safely - NDA signed, ISO 27001 certified, cyber assessment completed, bank details verified - so a quick glance at the vendor list shows exactly who's fully compliant and who still has something outstanding, without digging through a folder of PDFs.
Why this matters
A contract that auto-renews or lapses silently is a common, avoidable cost - either paying for a service nobody uses any more, or losing one everybody assumed was still live. Tracking every contract's notice period in one place turns that into a routine reminder instead of a surprise.
