Key concepts
An Approval Role is a named participant in a chain, such as "Manager" or "Finance" - a role can have several people in it, any one of whom can act on a step. A Workflow is an ordered sequence of roles a request must pass through. A Request is a single submission running through one workflow, one step at a time.
